What a document editor owes you
Contracts, translations, edited manuscripts — files other people open in Word. The editor's first duty is to give the file back exactly as trustworthy as it arrived.
Saved means unchanged
Open a .docx, save it, and the file is byte-for-byte identical. Verified on 32 of 32 real documents — contracts with tables, styles, numbering, headers, footnotes and a table of contents. No competitor makes this claim, because none can.

What it doesn't understand, it keeps
Every other editor drops what it can't display — a macro here, an exotic field there — and the file quietly degrades. Tiho Docs carries anything it doesn't yet handle through the edit untouched, so the parts you never saw come out exactly as they went in.
Free to use offline
The editor works with no account and no network, and using it that way costs nothing. Not a trial, not a limited mode — the full editor, on your files, on your disk.

Built from macOS components, following your system accent colour. It looks and behaves like software made for the machine it runs on — because it is.
Your files stay files
No import, no library, no proprietary format. A document lives where you put it, named what you named it, openable by anything that reads .docx.

That's what the subscription adds: storage that syncs your documents between machines, alongside your mailbox. It is optional and off by default — the editor is complete without it. Storage syncs files; it does not own them. The copy on your disk stays canonical, and cancelling never strands a document.

Privacy, and how it actually works
Most messages carry images whose real job is to report that you opened them, and when, and from where. Here is what happens to those images instead.

Tracking pixels aren't loaded
Images of one pixel, and images the sender marked hidden, exist only to report on you. They are never fetched — by us or by you.
Notifications, and what they cost
To tell you the moment a message arrives, our server keeps a connection to your mailbox — which means it holds access to it, encrypted at rest. It observes that something arrived; it does not read or store your mail. Disconnect the mailbox and the access is erased.
Your documents never leave
Used offline, Tiho Docs makes no network connections at all. There is nothing to proxy, because nothing is sent.

Questions
Does the editor really work without paying?
Yes. Offline use of Tiho Docs is free — the full editor, no account, no network, no time limit. The subscription only adds syncing between machines and the mailbox.
What happens to synced documents if I stop paying?
Nothing happens to your documents. The copy on your disk is the document; it stays, and it opens in anything. Sync stops — that's all. Cancelling never strands a file.
Do you read my mail?
No. Mail is stored on your device, and the client talks to your mailbox directly. One thing is worth stating plainly rather than burying: to notify you the moment a message arrives, our server keeps a connection to your mailbox, which means it holds access to it. It observes that something arrived — it does not read or store your messages. Disconnect the mailbox and the access is erased.
What happens to my mail if you shut down?
The client talks to your mailbox, so it keeps working — your mail is with your provider and on your devices, not with us. If we host your mailbox, you export everything in standard formats and point your domain at another provider.
Can I keep my domain?
Yes. The client works with a domain set up through any registrar today, and the hosted mailbox will take your domain when it opens. It stays registered to you either way.
Can I export everything?
Yes — mail in standard formats, documents as the .docx files they already are. There is no proprietary format anywhere in this.
